Christopher Daniel first joined the Centre for the Study of Commercial Activity as a Data Analyst in 2006 after completing the Masters of Spatial Analysis program at Toronto Metropolitan University. After many years working on the Major Retail Chains database and producing the annual CSCA Retail 100 - Leading Retailers reports, in addition to contributions on many other publications, he completed his Ph.D. at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2021. With the completion of his Ph.D., Christopher is now a Post-Doctoral Fellow with CSCA and is continuing to expand on the research he conducted in his dissertation.

Christopher has published articles on corporate concentration in the Canadian retailing industry in addition to publications on forecasting commercial space demand. His Ph.D. research studied the effects of the GGHA Growth Plan and E-commerce growth on the future demand for commercial real estate in the GGHA. This research is presently continuing under the added lens of the COVID-19 pandemic and the forecasted effects it will have on the demand for commercial space.

In addition to his work at CSCA, Christopher has also been employed as a GIS analyst in environmental protection, utilities management, and demographic analysis.
